Project Overview

Early Childhood Development (ECD), defined as the period from birth up to six years of age, is a critical window of opportunity for a child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

The Government of Rwanda developed and approved an ECD Policy and Strategic Plan (2016). It recognizes the need for concerted efforts by coordinating between the Health, Nutrition, WASH and Social and Child Protection sectors to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to the development of young children.
